LAPropertyInvestor has developed a tool for sorting CRR data. It can combine multiple filters and give you a very specific list that meets any given criteria. An example would be “Show me NOD’s, between 60-90 days old, that have purchase dates more than 4 years old, with 1st TDs in default, and total original loan value not to exceed $500,000″.
Seems pretty useful for delivering a list of potential equity purchase leads…

“The purpose of the Internet based Property Activity Report is to allow easy access and visual display of general information from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) Plan Check and Inspection System (PCIS) and the Code Enforcement Information System (CEIS).”
The Department of Public Health has a website that lets you check a property for violations. You will find it at www.ladhs.org/housing/
Could be useful if you are tracking down properties with lots of violations in hopes of picking them up and turning them around…
